You know the saying, ” Good things come in small packages.” Well, you can most definitely apply that to small rooms. Some of my favorite rooms are small and intimate. I have found that using furniture and decorative elements that offer maximum functionality ( can multi task ) is always helpful. Using rounded furnishings for better circulation and flow in small spaces is also wise. But do not be afraid of using bigger furnishings. Placing a few large scale pieces (rather than a mixture of smaller pieces) can actually make the room feel bigger. Using the same color palette can create unity in the room. I am partial to the theory of darker , richer paint colors make the walls recede, giving the illusion of a larger space. Using mirrors and art can also create the feel of a larger space, along with hanging drapes at the ceiling to make the room feel taller.
Enjoy your smaller rooms!!
